The new 2026 BMW R 1300 R will take the place of the R 1250 R. The R 1300 GS’s revised 1,300cc liquid-cooled boxer is fitted to it as well. The displacement has been raised to 1,300cc from 1,254cc. Peak torque increases from 105 lb-ft to 110 lb-ft at a slightly higher 6,500 rpm, while horsepower increases from 136 hp to 145 hp at 7,750 rpm. Compared to the old powerplant, the new one is 14 pounds lighter.

In addition to being new, the sheet-metal steel frame is reportedly more compact and has higher levels of stiffness than the old frame. A die-cast aluminum subframe is used in place of the prior tubular-steel one. For a sportier, more aggressive riding position, ergonomics have been improved. For better front-end sensation, the rider is positioned farther over the front wheel with a flatter handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs. The standard model’s seat height is 30.9 inches. A reworked EVO Paralever suspension and a 47mm inverted telescopic fork are also new. In addition to the usual engine Drag Torque Control, Dynamic Traction Control, and Integral ABS Pro, the ride modes include Rain, Road, and Eco.
Snapper Rocks Metallic is the possible color for the base 2026 BMW R 1300 R. The Option 719 Kilauea variant is Blackstorm Metallic, the Performance variant is Lightwhite, and the Exclusive variant is Racing Blue Metallic.
